Use the lender’s current written instructions

Keep the lender’s draft, property schedule and instructions together. Identify who owns the property, who is borrowing and who is expected to sign. Tell the adviser if these are different people.

Ask how the original documents will be handled and what acknowledgement will be provided. If the lender supplies a revised draft, have the revision checked rather than relying on an explanation of an earlier version. Coordination should make the paperwork easier to follow; questions about what you are agreeing to still need a proper answer.
