Keep the registered deed, payment evidence, acknowledgements and handover records together. Then check which property, tax or other records need a separate update.
Give the purchase a proper home in your files
It is easy to put the papers aside once the busy day is over. First check the copy you received is readable and complete. Keep track of where each original is held, especially if a bank is involved. Write down any pending document or possession arrangement. Registration does not mean every connected account or property record has already changed.
Make a handover folder while the details are fresh
Keep the registered copy, payment receipts and a list of original documents received. Add the possession or key-handover record where applicable. Note anything the seller has agreed to provide later, with a contact and expected date. Your next record update will be easier if this information is together rather than spread across the registration-day messages.
Before the appointment
- Check the document and property particulars in the received record.
- Keep a list of originals and copies handed over.
- Identify the authority responsible for each later update.
- Track pending actions with an owner and a next date.
The next step
Create one list of completed steps and one of pending updates. Use it for follow-up instead of trying to remember each promise from registration day.
Is khata transfer included in registration assistance?
Only if expressly agreed. Registration coordination and municipal record updates should be separately identified in the scope.
